Text
In quella parte che si lieva 'l giorno
donzell'apparve a me col vis'addorno.
E stava in un giardin sur un bel monte,
dove posato s'er un mie falcone,
e se spechiava in una chiara fonte
stando tra belli fior d'ogni
ragione.
Quasi una dea parea tra le persone
che ammirando lei stavano intorno
Translation
In that part where the sun rises
a girl appeared to me with an exquisite face.
She was in a garden on a fair mountain
where a falcon of mine had landed,
and she mirrored herself in a clear spring,
among beautiful
flowers of every kind.
She appeared almost like a goddess among those
who were admiringly around her.Text revision and translation © Giovanni Carsaniga
