Per la vera onestà, che teco regna,
donna gentile e bella,
io a me stesso vieto la favella.
Ma pur la greve pena, che nascosa
ho dentr'al cor lungo tempo tenuta,
mostra segno di fuor che brama posa,
sperando che da
te sie conceduta.
Adunque, s'i' mi vivo a lingua muta,
qualche modo m'insegna
ch'i' facci l'alma di piacerti degna
