London, British Library, Cotton Fragment XXIX

The burnt fragments which survived the fire
were compiled in this volume in the 19th century.
Among them is a folio of polyphonic music dated
1349 which was apparently a flyleaf in Cotton Ms.
Titus A XVIII. The famous English song `Angelus ad
virginem' is found here in a 2-part version.
