Madonna, bench'io miri in altra parte
amor da voi però mie cor non parte.
El non si può già mai partir mie core
da la vostra alta e nobil signoria
onde d'ogni beltà singular fiore
in voi si trova virtù e
legiadria.
Sola in voi posa la speranza mia
sì ch'ogn'altro piacer da me diparte.
Dunque da voi si mova ogni sospetto
tenendomi per servo come sono,
ch'Amor di voi sì m'ha fatto suggetto
e d'ogni spirto mio v'ha fatto
dono:
però liberamente in voi dispono
el cor e l'alma in tutto sanza parte
Translation
Although I may be looking elsewhere, Lady,
love does not let my heart be parted from you.
My heart cannot be parted
from your high and noble sovereignty.
In you virtue and loveliness are found,
unique flowering of
every beauty.
Only in you my hope rests,
so that every other pleasure leaves me.
Let all doubt be removed therefore from you:
hold me as your servant, which indeed I am,
given that Love has turned me into your liege
and has made you
a gift of all my spirits.
I therefore place freely at your disposal
