Chi tempo ha e per viltà tempo aspetta
se 'l perde quel non racquista in fretta.

Però chi de' far faccia
perché ben far non richiede dimora
e gran tempo si caccia
quel che fortuna concede in un'ora.

Fin che ventura vuol, donca, lavora,
ché 'l tempo passa quant'una saetta

Translation

If you have time and worriedly ask for more,
the time you have, once lost, can't be retrieved.

Therefore, if you must act, resolve to act,
because good deeds call for no hesitation;
long time one may pursue
what opportunity grants in one hour.

When fortune lets you, get on with your work,
because time flies away like a swift arrow.
