Che l'agg'i' fatto a questa donna altera,
che cavato m'ha 'l core,
sì che morir mi fa per lo su' amore?
Ma tu che fa', Cupido? Or ché non tendi
l'arco e l'aurato strale?
Saetta in le', sì ch'egual doglia
senta.

Translation
What did I do to this disdainful woman
that she should steal my heart
and make me die through loving her?
What are you doing about it, Cupid? Why don't you use
your bow and your golden arrows?
Shoot one at her, so
that she may feel as much pain as I do.
